Why Do I Write This Poem?

Do I write to get a stranger to love me?

Or to share a love that even alone within me is enough? 

Do I write to change the way my parents loved me?

Or to love my children and all children as we all want to be loved?

Do I write because I want money and adoration?

Or because I want humanity to love itself?

Do I write because I want a woman’s breasts and womb to open up to me?

Or because I want to make love to the Light?

 

I write because I want it to be remembered 

that through pain or joy

even in greed or in the letting go of worldly desires

there is a connection of love

in everything.

 

I write of the stillness and ecstasy

upon all of the Earth and in all life

I write of the stillness and ecstasy

within and beyond all molecules and Stars.

 

I write of humanity

of I being a human being 

of everyone being simply human 
and of every person in the world also being divine

 

In writing this poem

I found the secret spinning soul

In writing this poem

I see every person - every entity in the universe 

spinning a soul

I see in all that is experienced

in every life and in every moment

a poem writing itself.
